This is photo of Ban Jelacic Square. Ban Jelacic is considered an important and admirable figure in Croatian history. The central square of the city of Zagreb was named Ban Jelacic Square in 1848, and a statue of him was erected in 1866. Originally, the statue of Jelacic "pointed" with his saber north towards Hungary. Today the statue's position is reversed.
